Trying something new

I'm going to try blogging throughout the day rather than doing one big post at night. By the time I usually post I'm tired and it takes forever. If I need the help of the blog to process the day, maybe I can do it as I go along through the day rather than waiting until bedtime.

Mom and Tom just left. I fixed cheese cauliflower and grilled round steaks with mushroom sauce, with a baked sweet potato for Mom, and a couple of Mexican Cokes for them. Mexican Cokes are still made with cane sugar, so they taste like Cokes used to before high fructose corn syrup. I wish I could drink one. I'm thinking about having one on my birthday in August, in lieu of cake. I would like the Coke more, I think, and it's in a definite one-serving container, as opposed to the open-ended how-much-do-I-slice cake. That's just an example of changing my thinking, I guess. Rather than whining about not getting to have one, I just figured out a circumstance in which I could plan to have one. That is very different for me! The changes are starting to take root, maybe! August is forever off, and maybe by the time it gets here, a Mexican Coke will be the furthest thing in the world from what I want. But if it is, I can have it guilt-free as a planned indulgence.

But anyway, back to Mom and Tom's visit. I fed them and gave Tom the 600 for the car and he signed the title over to me. So now I own the Camry.

I walked back to Corner Market for the cream of mushroom soup I forgot, so that brings my total for the day to 1.1 miles. That's around 200 calories burned, so there's still about 100 left for me to meet my goal. I plan on doing a Leslie Sansone 15-minute mile after a while, and that should let me reach the total I need.

  1. Yes, changes are starting to take root. The roots grow slowly, day by day, and you will notice them more after a longer time.

Good for you for making changes to what wasn't working!
